Description

Lewisham Council is looking to procure a contractor to deliver capital works at Rockbourne Youth Centre, 41a Rockbourne Road, London, SE23 2DA,. The Youth Club is currently in use for after school clubs, scouts, church groups as well as Lewisham education provision. The purpose of the works to the Rockbourne Youth Centre is to deliver improvements to the current facilities of the site, in order to be suitable for its current use as a community and youth centre, but also as an after school club provision for local schoolchildren, and a 'Short Breaks Hub' that will allow for the care of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) while away from their parents (on a short term non-residential basis).
The client have specified the key works that are required to bring the site up to specification and enable it to be both suitable for educational delivery, but also a safe space for the children to use with the appropriate Equalities Act provisions for those children requiring additional support.
The intention is to deliver the works in a phased approach, working around the existing users in an attempt to keep disruption to a minimum, and ensure adequate health and safety and site segregation during any works that are to be delivered.
This is an excellent opportunity to provide an innovative and creative solution within an inner city youth centre provision.
