Description

Sheffield's name has been synonymous with events for many years. The city has an annual calendar which delivers a wide range of events from community park events to international sporting events. The Councils vision is to encourage the people of Sheffield to attend and attract visitors from outside the region to the city and increase Sheffield's profile This is an exciting opportunity for the successful bidder to shape a new bonfire /firework event on the Lower Don Valley Grass Bowl in the month of November. The Council would like the Event to have a new brand and welcomes new suggestions Sheffield City Council is seeking an Event Organiser who has achieved demonstrable success and has a track record in organising event with a capacity of 5000+. The Event Organiser shall manage, successfully host, organise the event which: • Has no financial cost or risk to Sheffield City Council; with all financial or operational costs and risks being the responsibility of the Event Organiser • Provides the opportunity for income share from the Events with the Council to support the city's major events programme. • As a council we strive to deliver well organised safe events and be sustainable as possible looking at waste management, car sharing, paperless communications, packaging. • Event organisers commitment to the councils' social objectives, employment, training, and retention. The Council is keen to receive ideas from Event Organisers on how they would host and organise a bonfire/firework event The Council requires the Event Organiser to detail in their proposal, Vision, how they will manage, organise the event over the contract.
