Description

As key providers within West North & East Cumbria and Bay Health & Care Partners, Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, North Cumbria University Hospitals Foundation Trust and University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust wish to collaborate with a view to providing the Cumbria and North Lancashire health economies with a fully integrated continence provision.

The partners therefore wish to implement a contract for the complete home delivery service of continence products to patients in their own homes, in residential homes and in nursing homes as well as the provision of a delivery service directly to wards/departments within Acute and Community Hospitals, as well as Mental Health Units.

The geographical area to be covered by the contract is mostly rural in nature, with the largest centres of population being Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven, Barrow in Furness, Lancaster, Kendal and Penrith. However, for the purposes of this contract, bidders must be aware that deliveries will be required to be made outwith the Cumbria county boundary. (eg) Canonbie, Haltwhistle etc for the home delivery element of the service. Additionally, home deliveries may also be required into North Lancashire, and, to clarify, to the acute service at Royal Lancaster Infirmary

Owing to the nature of the service, it is expected that variations to the contract would be made in terms of both delivery destination and potentially, product specification.

Additionally, there will also be a requirement to procure products to meet specific client needs from other 3rd party providers from time to time.

This procurement is being managed via the SBS framework SBS/15/RC/GWB/8730 LOT 2A for Community Equipment Products & Services. Note that ONLY those suppliers listed on LOT 2A of the framework are eligible to apply.
