Description
The provision is to provide reports covering audience research data collation, analysis and reporting across all the media platforms on which the BBC operates (TV, radio, online) - covering the performance of all BBC services and their competitors in the marketplace. To meet these requirements data is drawn from a wide range of data sources including BARB, RAJAR, surveys and panels, web stats and social metrics. The requirement is for secondary analysis and reporting - not for primary data collection.
The anticipated value of the initial 2 year term is expected to be in the region of 1 000 000 GBP. The maximum value of 4 375 000 000 GBP includes the initial term plus any available extensions executed to term or variations to scope.
The current contract provides a total of 140 reports covering audience research data collation, analysis and reporting across all the media platforms on which the BBC operates (TV, radio, online) - covering the performance of all BBC services and their competitors in the marketplace. To meet these requirements data is drawn from a wide range of data sources including BARB, RAJAR, surveys and panels, web stats and social metrics. The requirement is for secondary analysis and reporting - not for primary data collection. The new provision will be to appoint 1 supplier to provide both Data Analysis and Ad-Hoc reporting. The new provision is based on last year's demand, where there were 560 ad-hoc reporting requests and c80 regular reports with variable frequencies (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly). There will be a phased approach in reducing the volume of reports via in-sourcing during the initial term.
The following is anticipated during the initial 2 year term of the contract:
- Year 1 of the contract approximately 75 %-90 % of the current sets of regular reports will be run and 85 %-90 % of ad-hoc reports will be outsourced.
- Year 2 of the contract approximately 50 %-75 % of the current sets of regular reports and 50 %-70 % of ad-hoc reports will be outsourced.
The aim is to have in-sourced 50 % of regular/ad-hoc reporting by December 2019. Further in sourcing capabilities will be determined prior to executing available contract extensions.
