Description

It is the BBC's position to provide medical insurance, matched to local market practice, in countries where the state does not provide adequate cover. This is a key lever in the attraction and retention of talent outside of the UK, allows the BBC to have a competitive offering and is a statutory requirement in several countries. The BBC does not have the same recognition as an employer outside of the UK and in and the organisations with which we compete for talent do widely offer this benefit.

The BBC wishes to drive simplification, efficiency and cost saving whilst at the same time continuing to support the wellbeing of employees and being a key driver in the attraction and retention of the best talent and the best leaders in the industry

In several countries medical insurance is a statutory requirement and the BBC must be compliant with local legislation. In other locations this is market practice as healthcare systems do not always provide adequate cover and in some countries, there is no state health system in place.

The BBC are seeking a broker to:
1. benchmark the current provision against market and local regulatory practice
2. provide recommendations as to the appropriate level of cover for each market and is compliant
3. run a market review exercise and provide the BBC with the most competitive and suitable terms available in the market
