Description

Broadstairs & St. Peter's Town Council (BSPTC) procures and manages the festoon lighting display along the Viking Bay and Victoria Gardens area of Broadstairs, with the aim of enhancing this seafront location, specifically the promenade, for 12 months of the year.
The existing festoon lighting is no longer fit for purpose and is coming to the end of its active life. There is no longer a maintenance contract in place to look after the lights and it is repaired on an adhoc basis.
The existing Festoon lighting suffers significantly from its coastal location, specifically suffering from wind and salt damage. The current Festoon is fixed to lighting columns, some of which are not working.
BSPTC is seeking suitably experienced companies to tender for the removal of the existing festoon lighting, electrical repairs of broken columns and the design, supply, installation and maintenance of a new promenade lighting scheme. The Town Council will look favourably on schemes that are able to withstand the impacts of the coastal environment, with longevity a key factor in the decision making.
Tender documents enclosed include photographs of the existing festoon, a map showing the location the decorative lighting scheme.
The Town Council is not obliged to accept the lowest or any tender.
Prospective contractors, companies or sole traders are prohibited from contacting councillors or staff to encourage or support their tender outside of the proscribed process.
Tenders are invited on a sealed bid basis by Monday 6th April 2020, 5pm.
