Description

NWL CCG requires a children & young people involvement & engagement service in line with NHS statutory duties for patient & public participation in commissioning & improving children & young people's provisions locally in Brent. This service will work to develop an engagement plan & deliver this effectively to Brent children in schools, after school clubs, youth centers, family centers, GP practices, Children Centers & other areas frequented by children & young people.

Key services required:
- Empower local communities to challenge stigma around mental illness
- Explore issues of mental health, including the relationship between mental & physical health
- Capture the voice of the child (document some verbatim statements that characterise themes & consistent views of groups of young people)
- Capture frequently asked questions & provide feedback & answers to young people.
- Act as a bridge between the views of young people, & the vision of commissioners. Seek answers to any new FAQs, & to get updates on service developments
- Present themes from young people & local communities to commissioners, that can help inform service development & improvement
- Explore how the majority of children & young people are able to Thrive & maintain emotional & mentally healthy
- Improve awareness of children, parents, carers, residents & frontline staff to identify healthy signs of emotional & mental health wellbeing, & warning signs of emotional distress, & symptoms of mental illness
- Increase parent, carers, & young people's knowledge of: Signs of emotional distress, Symptoms of mental illness, The Signs of Safety approach to managing risk, The Local Offer for Special Educational Needs & Disability care

The CCG currently has a contract in place with Community Barnet to provide the above services. 30 Sept 2021 - 31 March 2022 (£6,424) during which time, the CCG will assess the needs of the service users & consider how (if relevant) it needs to:
-Secure the needs of the people who use the services.
-Improve quality & the efficiency in the provision of the services including through the services being provided in an integrated way.

NWL CCG is currently of the view that the services described are capable of being provided only by Community Barnet as based on the current market of local providers identified through community engagement events. The purpose of this notice is to be transparent about the CCG's intentions & to invite anyone interested in delivering the services described above to contact us by 1st March 2022.

If it is the case that Community Barnet is the only provider capable of delivering the services described, then the CCG will look to award a further contract to Community Barnet for up to 12 months beyond 1 April 2022.

In 2022, it is anticipated that NWL CCG will be succeeded by an Integrated Care Board (ICB). Any future contract/procurement opportunity may therefore be in the name of the ICB.
