Description
Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council (TMBC) ('The Council') is looking to install a new heating system comprised of an AHU and multiple variable speed Air Source Heat Pumps serving two pool plate heat exchangers and an LTHW backup coil in the air handling unit.
The Larkfield Leisure Centre is a facility owned by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council. It is a facility based in New Hythe, Larkfield which has both wet and dry sections within the building complex. There are a range of sports and leisure facilities as well as parking directly outside the centre. The building consists of a set of swimming pools - a leisure pool, a teaching pool, a toddler pool and a competition pool. The competition pool has an insulated metal ceiling, and the other areas have a combination of flat roofs and glass ceilings. The facilities accommodate an exercise studio & classes, function rooms, martial arts, multi-purpose sports hall, teaching pool, wellness gym, birthday parties, and children's holiday activities.
The proposed solution relates to the competition pool and involves separating the heating into two, splitting the air handling unit and pool water heating.
