Description
Oxford City Council is preparing a new Local Plan. It will contain a strategy for the development of the city to the period up to 2036. A key piece of evidence when considering future development will be the Retail and Leisure Needs Assessment. This assessment will forecast future need, based on future population and expenditure forecasts in the context of changing trends in the retail and leisure sectors. Then the amount of future floor space that can be supported within the city will be assessed. This will enable the City Council to consider the range of town centre uses in drawing up a strategy for site allocations and proposed planning policies.
