Description

The project consist of the construction of a 4 Storey building for Nottingham Trent University. Henceforth referred to as 'the project'.
The anticipated project building cost is expected to be in the order of £3.95m excluding VAT.
The project will be awarded as one contract which capture both Shell, Core and Fit out project works.
Separate to this project though associated with the development are demolition and general site preparation works. These works do not form part of this Expression of Interest and PQQ document.
The site is located at 23 Goldsmith Street, Nottingham in the City of Nottingham. The site is a congested City Centre site with attached and detached neighbours, and tram lines running to the front of the property

The project team are expected to deliver a building with a BREEAM rating of "Excellent" and an EPC A rating. The team will be using the principles contained in the BRE "Green Guide to Specifications" such as:-

· Concrete will be specified to achieve the best available green standards by the use of recycled aggregates and cement replacement.
· Timber will be FSC certified
· High performance envelope
· High level of building air sealing to achieve low air leakage standard, coupled with very high levels of insulation

"The site area is compact and in the middle of the City, is surrounded by buildings of different ownership and use and has tram services operating at the front of the site, a situation that the successful contractor will have similar experience of and, ultimately, will need to demonstrate they can successfully manage. Therefore the successful contractor will be required to adopt, in addition to best construction practice such as:
"
· Good neighbour practices and rigorous communication strategies
· Rigorous health and safety standards to protect adjacent end users and members of the public
· Green policies
· Just in time deliveries
· The use of public transport and vehicle sharing

It should be noted there will be no provision for any parking of contractor vehicles on the Site.
