Description

The principal aim of this project is to provide opportunities for residents to benefit from access to training, skills and work opportunities and to promote engagement and self-reliance within our less advantaged communities. The ability to provide these training opportunities is facilitated through the provision of gardening and street cleansing services on behalf of the Council.

The Council wishes to appoint a contractor to deliver a 3 plus 1 year training, skills and work experience project. As part of the project, the contractor will deliver:

(a) a programme of learning, training and work opportunities to prepare unemployed people for work, build their confidence, provide them with essential skills for living and employment and offer on-going mentoring to support their progression;

(b) gardening services at various Council-owned sites; and

(c) street cleansing services in the Park Barn and Westborough area.

* In addition to the core budget of ?130,000/annum, further funding may be available to support the training and skills element of the project. Tenderers are asked to detail what additional activities they would undertake to support the objectives (a, b and c) in the event of further funding of ?15,000, ?30,000, ?45,000 and ?60,000 per annum being available.
