Description

Design and Build (Grip 4 - Grip 8) for the redevelopment of Perry Barr Railway Station.

Perry Barr will be a major gateway for the Commonwealth Games (CWG). It will be the home of the Athletes' Village which will bring visitors from around the world to Perry Barr. The Athletes' Village will be constructed on the former site of Birmingham City University, on the eastern side of the A34, opposite the existing railway station and bus interchange.

The current station is not fit for purpose in terms of both operational capacity, passenger experience and status as a gateway to the principal CWG venue. The station needs to be redeveloped to act as a transport hub for the games and as a catalyst for longer term regeneration of the area.
