Description

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council (NMDDC) continually maintain the path corridors on Slieve Gullion and restore the landscape against habitat impacts of visitors to ensure sustainable management of the site and to improve the experience of visiting Slieve Gullion.
Slieve Gullion Forest Park is situated approximately 4 miles from the A1 dual carriageway between Belfast and Dublin, exiting for Forkhill. The Park and adjacent Forest provides a range of recreation and visitor facilities. Slieve Gullion Forest Park holds a number of environmental designations; notably Slieve Gullion SAC, Slieve Gullion ASSI, Ring of Gullion AONB, Hawthorn Hill FNR.
The site is located in Slieve Gullion Forest Park, 89 Drumintee Road, Meigh, Newry. The Park and adjacent Forest provides a range of recreation and visitor facilities.
At present the land is owned by Forest Service Northern Ireland (FSNI). FSNI currently licence the land to Newry, Mourne and Down District Council (NMDDC).
