Description

Smart Emerging Technologies Institute (SETI)
A key part of SETI will be to design, test and validate new algorithms, methods and tools to cope with novel sensor designs and vast amounts of real-time data and to design new protocols for edge-computing and network management that provide for more efficient and secure networks that operate over fixed and wireless infrastructure. As well as creating a unique and potentially the fastest research and innovation testbed in Europe, SETI will also undertake to work with other agencies of government and industry to highlight where interventions are required to provide the availability of adequate digital communications infrastructure in the East of England region (in particular Norfolk and Suffolk). SETI is intended to work collaboratively to generate knowledge of societal and commercial benefit. Its development addresses a number of key opportunities identified in both the government Industrial Strategy: (Industrial Strategy White Paper attached) and the East of England- Science and Innovation Audit: (EoE SIA Summary attached)

Description of Services
A contractor shall be appointed to undertake the following services: (i) undertake a state of the art Government policy review; (ii) scope and develop the SETI vision and technical business plan; (iii) project management, budget formulation and costing; (iv) technical report/proposal preparation; and (v) preparation of technical presentations and delivery of completed technical business plan suitable to submission for funding to respective UK government agencies. using the EPRSC Case for Support Template: (https://epsrc.ukri.org/funding/applicationprocess/preparing/writing/)(vi) the work will be undertaken without the requirement of frequent meetings with UEA staff.(please take this into account in your proposed methodology).
