Description

Birmingham City Council Public Health is looking to commission an organisation who can work effectively with local community organisations who support people with learning difficulties to develop more accessible information on COVID-19, testing, vaccination and maintaining wellbeing in accessible formats (e.g. text, video, graphics, animation, audio and photographs as appropriate)

The requirements as a minimum should include the following service:

o Initial research and understanding of the information needs and topics to be covered by the resources which will include for example information on: lockdown rules, shielding guidance testing and information about the vaccine.
o Creation of easy read information about the latest issues relating to COVID-19 in England
o Production of easy read guidance of visiting in supported living services and hospitals, as well as exercising with support and away from your local area, when there is more information available.
o Production of videos on the latest issues relating to coronavirus in England, including lockdown rules, shielding guidance testing and information about the vaccine.
o Products to be shared with Birmingham City Council Public Health.

The successful provider will work closely with Public Health to ensure quality, consistency and progression through email, meetings, reporting and risk updates.
o Public Health welcomes an innovative approach to the provision of effective resources in this area. The materials should include a range of multi-media formats (e.g. text, video, graphics, animation, audio and photographs) as appropriate.
o The provider will be responsible for gathering the required permission to include new and existing multimedia resources at a cost to be included in the total award available.
o Regular review of the materials will need to be undertaken with final quality assurance process to ensure that the content and presentation of the materials are of the highest possible standard.

The contract will run from March 2021 to 30th June 2021.
