Description

The University is developing six stand-alone laboratories within its Biomedical Incubator Facility, the BioHub. Each laboratory is to be leased to a small commercial company to conduct its research and development activities in the 'life sciences' sector.

Each company will be charged a commercial rate, which will include the provision of key pieces of equipment. These items should appeal to a potential commercial tenant, and reflect the high standard of service and support that the BioHub project provides.

The equipment should thus be of suitable quality for a commercial laboratory, but easily maintained and intuitive to use, with a minimum of configuration required.

The laboratories are relatively small, so it is important to maximise the space available by decreasing the footprint of the equipment and/or utilising under-bench spaces.

This tender is for the purchase of five identical items.

Overall budget for these items is up to ?35k GBP excluding VAT.

All tender questions must be answered within the tender form to facilitate comparison of responses. Please do not just put refer to attached documentation.

This project may be funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) or;
- European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF) or;
- Research Councils UK (RCUK), the strategic partnership of the UK's seven Research Councils.
Should the project encounter any budgetary constraints then the University reserves the right to withdraw the requirement.

TO BE DELIVERED BY: Mid-January 2019
