Description

*****IMPORTANT UPDATE - This EOI has been withdrawn due to a change of direction within the Spaceflight programme. This does not impact the UK Space Agency's commitment to inspiring the next generation of space professionals and supporting the future talent pipeline.*****

Earlier this year, the UK made history by conducting the first ever orbital launch from UK soil. With additional vertical launches also planned from Scotland over the coming year, this demonstrates the UK's growing launch capability and position as a leading spacefaring nation. In 2022 the UK Space Agency commissioned a life-size, 72ft replica of Virgin Orbit's LauncherOne rocket to provide an exciting and engaging educational asset to inspire and engage the next generation of space professionals as well as increase awareness of launch from the UK. UKSA is now looking for a project partner to host the model rocket on a long term loan (3 years initially, with scope to increase) and continue to inspire children and young people and support out overarching educational objectives.

An Expression of Interest document is attached to this notice with further details of the planned objectives of the loan and associated evaluation criteria. Those wishing to be considered should read it carefully and provide a response to the Agency that outlines the benefits and their planned engagement. A draft contract including a statement of work is also included that potential applicants would need to agree upon being successful for this opportunity. All responses should be submitted to: commercial@ukspaceagency.gov.uk by the deadline date identified within this notice.
