Description

(If viewing on contracts finder, please go to our eProcurement portal In-tend for full details: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/llaol/aspx/Home)

As part of Luton Airports ongoing improvement strategy, the 2 escalators located in the duty-free area of the airport are to undergo a complete replacement within the existing truss. The escalators provide access between the central search area (security and passport control) on the ground floor to the duty-free area at level 1. The escalators are arranged as a parallel pair both operating in the up direction.

LLA's currently installed escalators in this area were installed in 2005 as part of terminal developments to increase passenger throughput to £5m departing passengers a day. The airport has now expanded further, with double the number of passengers departing, and the equipment is now failing on a regular basis due to their age, components, and usage.
