Description

NHS NEL ICB are seeking an Improving Bowel Cancer Screening Uptake Service in City & Hackney (Black population)
The overall aim of the service is to improve earlier diagnosis of colorectal cancer in Hackney
and the City by increasing uptake of colorectal cancer screening.
The provider will be responsible for delivering the following core components of the service:
i. Engagement of GP practices to participate in project.
ii. Recruitment and training of volunteer community champions to act in a peer
advocate role through GP practices
iii. Face to face and telephone engagement through GP practices with individuals who
will be about to receive the FIT kit for the first time.
iv. Request replacement FIT kits for patients as required from the Bowel Cancer
screening hub in the Homerton.
v. Work closely with the Bowel Cancer Screening hub in the Homerton to ensure that
volunteers are trained with the right messaging around the bowel cancer screening
process.
vi. Document and inform GP practices of patients with no phone numbers.
NEL ICB are inviting suppliers to demonstrate what service could be delivered with the financial envelope available, using the service specification as a guide.
