Description

The Works are in relation to electrical upgrade and decoration works to the common parts of a number of purpose built, residential housing blocks owned by the Authority.

The works include the renewal of rising and lateral mains, the replacement where required of VIR cabling, upgrading of communal lighting and the installation of emergency lighting where none currently exist; and decorations to common parts using a Class O rated fire retardant coating.

The works include for:

(i) Communal lighting upgrades to 835 blocks;

(ii) Renewal of rising and lateral mains to 331 blocks;

(iii) Common part decorations to 125 blocks;

(iv) A comprehensive resident liaison service to gain access to their flats for the purposes of connecting new electrical mains;

(v) Asbestos removal or encapsulation works where required;

(vi) Consultation with residents to select colour choices for decorations;

The Authority intends to enter into a Framework Alliance Contract, FAC-1 under a bespoke form of TPC2005 (2013 version) with a maximum of three successful service providers for a period of 48 months, although call offs may extend beyond that period.
