Description
Scope of the Procurement
The Catering requirement across the Council has several established areas, the largest of which is the provision of 19,000 school meals each day to mainly Rotherham based schools although there will be the requirement to deliver to several Doncaster schools and one Sheffield school. There are also several residential care units and commercial café outlets which these contracts will service. Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council aims to ensure any food provision is in-line with a healthy eating agenda to keep the community fit and healthy, as well as satisfying a variety of medical and religious dietary requirements in-line with any relevant legislation and guidance.
This contract will service sites throughout Rotherham and potentially other sites may utilise the contract if requirements arise. A full copy of the site list is provided at Appendix 1. There are 12 school meal sites who will have ongoing regular requirements, alongside the below sites:-
• Rotherham Schools serviced by Riverside Catering
• Clifton Park Café/Museum Café
• Thrybergh Country Park
• Rother Valley Country Park
• Waleswood Caravan Park
• Parkhill Lodge
• Lord Hardy Court
• Davies Court
• Civic Theatre
Supply requirement will not be limited to term time only as we support the Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) Programme and will therefore be purchasing sandwiches throughout the Year. This will also apply to the non-school sites.
New sites may be added to this list and current sites removed as and when required by the Council throughout the duration of this contract.
This further competition relates to the supply of Sandwiches, Wraps and Food to Go, via Category 9 of the YPO Food Deal DPS (ref: 985).
