Description

Overall Requirement - Specification for the supply of Apprenticeship level 3 Team Leader Training

Our strategic plan and people strategy both highlight the importance of having managers that are motivated, responsive, inclusive and adaptable so that the University can deliver on its goals for students and staff.

The University of Sunderland is looking to find a training provider (on the register of training providers) who preferably has experience within the HE sector, and who can deliver a Team Leader level 3 apprenticeship, starting approximately September 2019, and funded 100% through the apprenticeship levy.

The appointed supplier will be required to attend campus (Sunderland and or London) for face to face training, and work based assessment. A blended learning approach is encouraged, but this should not replace all face to face contact. The schedule must be structured in advance, to ensure the University of Sunderland can provide adequate rooms for any face to face delivery, or private space if required for portfolio building. The chosen supplier will provide training, advice and guidance to both groups and on a one-to-one basis.

The purpose of this contract is to provide a fully comprehensive contract, to deliver 2 x cohorts within a maximum of 2 x 18 months period. The cohorts will be up to a maximum of 12 candidates.
The tenderer shall provide comprehensive costs for the delivery of the scheme. The contract shall be covered 100% by the apprenticeship levy funding charges.

Although the modules required will be set via the apprenticeship standards, an opportunity to shape the content of face to face sessions to suit the culture and challenges within higher education is key, this will require working in partnership with the Organisation and Staff Development team.

There should be a planned approach to the 20% off the job element of the apprenticeship, ensuring a blended learning approach is taken, the University of Sunderland can support some of the development of this time through experiential learning projects.

The contract is for 2 years' with the option to extend for a further 2 years (in 12 monthly increments) the estimated value for 4 years (no guarantees on spend level) is £240,000 we reserve the right to spend a further 40% of the anticipated spend, subject to changes to further requirements across the University for the duration of the award
