Description

The University of Portsmouth's mission is to 'create, share and apply knowledge to make a difference to individuals and society'. This is being delivered through the University's Vision 2030 and Strategy 2020-25; it places benefitting wider society at our core through our ambitions to become one of the UK's leading civic universities, significantly building our global research and reputation, and delivering globally-recognised solutions that improve society.

Through our research and innovation activities we expect to demonstrate our leadership and increase our funded collaborations with businesses and the public sector, grow our strategic partnerships, and increase the opportunities for student engagement in knowledge exchange activities.

The University has identified research and innovation strengths in the following areas:
Lot One: Creative and Digital
Lot Two: Health and medical technologies
Lot Three: Clean growth/net zero/environmental sustainability
Lot Four: Heritage
Lot Five: Space & Satellites
Lot Six: Security and Policing

Supporting place-based R&I activity is an important element of future Government policy and the University is looking for external expertise to provide independent analysis on the relative strengths of these six areas to inform future investments and bidding activity.

The University wishes to appoint a partner to work with key stakeholders to test and affirm our areas of strength in key sectors of creative and digital, health and medical technologies, clean growth/net zero/environmental sustainability, heritage, space & satellites, security and policing. This will help inform which sectors to prioritise for future investment and support with respect to place-based funding opportunities.

Full details of the requirements are under the Specification section of the ITT (section 3).
