Description

The project involves the Maintenance & Refurbishment of the Isle of May Beacon. The Isle of May Beacon and Isle of May Lighthouse is located on an estuarial Island at the mouth of the Firth of Forth, 5 miles from Fife and 11 miles from East Lothian. At a position of 56° 11.2' N, 02° 33.3' W. the light is situated 73 meters above sea level and is classified a Scheduled Monument. The Northern Lighthouse Board is seeking a specialist contractor with experience of Historic Scotland or similar/equivalent project work in masonry repairs to historic or equivalent buildings and use of lime mortars to conduct the proposed works which involve the removal of defective render from Beacon, and application of a new lime render system.
