Description
Two types of preparatory activities:
• Clarity by way of conversations to understand observations within HRA Data Migration Strategy
• Produce a 'Data Healthcheck' report identifying problems with source data submission, requiring correction prior to data mapping, cleansing and transformation. Details of data submission, its corresponding reference data, and supporting information (gathered and reviewed for consistency). Data content analysed to identify common, and delay-causing, data deficiencies.
A 'data healthcheck' report taking the format of:
• Checks performed (corresponding SQL queries documented and commented upon, should future analysis/checks be re-run
• Findings discovered
• Pre-emptive questions for future activities requiring further investigation
• Summary of readiness of source data to migrate, alongside suggested recommendations for onward data cleansing, risks and dependencies
Additional observations:
• Data availability (including reference data for coded data items)
• Data integrity within system, and between, systems
• Robustness of unique ID's
• Identification of data cohorts within source data, ensuring confidence in migration activities
• Data quality
• Identification of active v inactive data correctly within source systems (plus quantity of activity over legacy systems' life)
