Description

The Council requires a supplier to support the development, organisation and delivery of an SME trade and business event which will bring together and facilitate the cooperation of Commonwealth SME supply chain businesses in the food and drink sector.

This contract will be for a period of 1 year commencing 1st November 2021 and expiring on 30th October 2022.

The contract will be awarded to one provider.

The key deliverables for this contract include:
Scope and develop a food and drink supply chain business summit/event for Birmingham and Commonwealth country SME's, to include level of investment required and expected outcomes and benefits.
Subject to the Council securing the appropriate level of resource, deliver the event, which should be hosted in Birmingham in the summer of 2022, forming part of the suite of business-related activities being undertaken in the run up to the Commonwealth Games.
Identify, contact and secure support from key Commonwealth partners across the food and drink SME business eco-system.

Establish a sustainable Commonwealth Food and Drink SME Network/Platform that will support the creation and continuation of business to business exchanges between Birmingham and Commonwealth city's SME's allowing for the exchange of best practice, knowledge and innovation whilst also opening up channels for trade (import and export) opportunities.
Work with the City Council to develop a legacy in the form of a commitment through an agreed Birmingham 'Charter' or 'Declaration' that would support the City's Commonwealth Games "Be Bold" "Be Healthy" messaging.

The supplier will also be required to help the City Council support a healthy and sustainable SME food economy by helping us identify and engage with 'best in class' local and international participants.
