Description

The Council invites quotations for the provision of Educational Psychology Support (for SEND).

From September 2022 Locality SEND Support (LSS) will become the standard way of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in all Croydon mainstream schools.

LSS aims to provide early support to schools, SENDCOs and directly to pupils with emerging needs on order to avoid more serious interventions further down the line.

As part of the offer to LSS schools, we wish to contract additional early intervention, non-statutory, top-up associate EP provision to support, train and possibly clinically supervise school SENDCos, TAs and Teachers. This will enable them to improve early support to the children and young people in their schools and thus enhance the life chances of children and young people in the borough.

This associate top-up support is in addition to and will complement the statutory and traded provision provided by Croydon's EP team. The successful bidder will work closely and in partnership with the existing Croydon EPs in an associate role. This additional provision will be used to augment the work of Croydon EPs and provide much earlier support than is currently possible through existing services.

The work will concentrate more on consultations, early interventions, and empowering teaching staff to have the knowledge and confidence to support SEND students early and effectively. The main effort should focus on supporting pupils to remain in mainstream education. The duration of the contract is one year.
