Description

The University of Sunderland wishes to refresh the student gateway offering across both City campus and St. Peter's campus, thereby taking the opportunity to create more cohesive services around it as well.

The main objective for both buildings (Gateway building at City & Prospect building in St. Peter's Campus) is to provide a one stop shop where all students can receive advice and guidance. This includes general admin, catering services, student informal study areas, and with a focus on the University's careers employability service, Sunderland Futures.

There is also a requirement to provide a corporate area for business visitors to the University. However it is important to note that this requirement is specific to the City Campus Gateway.

At the St Peters Campus, there is a requirement to review the library helpdesk provision. This will include proposals for a new book return system with allocation for book sorting and distribution.

A key consideration is that there should be continuity of design through both buildings. This includes the use of colour schemes, signage and finishing materials.

As part of the development, there is also a requirement to create a new entrance at both sites. The City Campus entrance will also accommodate for the corporate visitors to the building and will form part of the corporate area development.
The St Peters Campus entrance will provide a clear entrance point from the Quadrangle, drawing students into the building to replace the anonymous entrances currently present. The existing entrance to this building will be closed and repurposed into the new layout.

This opportunity is available to University of Sunderland Minor Works Lot 3 Contractors only. Expressions of interest outside this framework will not be accepted and no further correspondence will be entered into.
