Description
The third phase of the Health Pooled Fund (HPF3) is a five-year, multi-donor programme led by the British Government's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and including the Government of Canada, the Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency (SIDA), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), GAVI - The Vaccine Alliance, and the European Union (EU). HPF3 began in October 2018 and will end in October 2023.
HPF3 supports services in seven state hubs of South Sudan: Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Lakes, Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Warrap, Western Bahr el Ghazal and Western Equatoria.
The impact of HPF3 programme will be an improved health and nutrition status for the population that saves lives and reduces morbidity (including maternal, infant and under-5 mortality), with the following three principal outcomes:
• Improved health and nutrition services for the population, especially women and children
• Improved community engagement and accountability of health services
• Stabilisation of local health systems
Crown Agents, as lead implementor of HPF3 is looking for a suitably qualified company or other entity, registered in South Sudan, for the implementation of a mini-household health survey to provide data for the updating of six (6) key health indicators (as listed below) using Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) in four (4) of the ten (10) states of the Republic of South Sudan.
- Outcome indicator 1 -Proportion of births delivered in a health facility
- Outcome indicator 2 -Percentage of all women that used modern contraceptives
- Outcome indicator 3 - Prevalence of wasting among children under 5 years of age
- Output indicator 2.4 - Proportion of mothers and caregivers with children under 5 with knowledge of danger signs of childhood illnesses
- Output Indicators 2.5 - Proportion of women and men with knowledge of three primary danger/ warning signs of pregnancy
- Output Indicator 4.4. - Percentage of community members who express satisfaction with the availability and quality of health facility services
