Description

The London Borough of Sutton is seeking expressions of interest from interested organisations for the above contract.

The Authority seeks to commission a high quality outcome focused Dementia Peer Support Service for carers and those they care for living with dementia, in line with the statutory requirements of the Care Act 2014, and local priorities set out in the Corporate Plan Ambitious for Sutton, and the Carers Strategy 2019.

The overall aim of the Dementia Peer Support service is to reduce isolation, increase raise awareness and knowledge of the dementia pathway, and support carers and those they care for live well with dementia through the delivery of Dementia Cafes and carer peer support groups.

The Authority is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to tender for the provision of the Dementia Peer Support service which includes the following key service elements:
1. Dementia Cafes (across the borough)
2. Peer Support Groups for carers caring for someone with dementia ( (this may also include peer support for the cared for in order for the carer to attend sessions)
The Service Provider will work collaboratively with key statutory agencies (as part of the dementia care pathway) the Dementia Action Alliance, and with the voluntary and community sector in Sutton to promote and deliver :
• Inclusive and safe dementia cafes and peer support group sessions
• Activities that provide social emotional support, encourage social engagement and shared experiences, as well as information provision and guidance from key statutory agencies and specialist services.
The service is for carers and those living with dementia resident in borough of Sutton.

The anticipated contract start date is : 1 July 2021
