Brief description:

An opportunity has arisen for an Housing Occupational Therapist to work as part of a team and on own initiative within the Housing Service and have close working practices with the Floating Support Service to ensure that available adapted properties are allocated effectively to people with a physical disability. Make links and work in partnership with housing employees and outside agencies, to offer housing solutions for individual applicants

Responding to requests for an Occupational Therapist assessment for applicants with disabilities in need of suitable housing and to explore and advise on housing options for people with a physical disability to achieve independent living.

You will need to have proven skills to assess and advise on the provision of equipment and adaptations and recommend property types where suitable adaptations can be achieved and ensure that available adapted properties are allocated in accordance with an individual's needs; making recommendations based on need to meet the individuals long-term housing requirements.

Must hold Diploma of BSC in Occupational Therapy, or Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent), must have HCPC registration and have a current Enhanced DBS Check.
