Description
NOTE: This notice was updated on 02 July 2019 for the following reason: This contract has not been awarded due to tenders received exceeding the budget(It is the Boards intension to award this contract to a single Contractor and it is envisaged that the successful Tenderer will co-ordinate the running of project works at Irvine Harbour. The proposed works principally involve to construct a 10m high replacement structure with a 5 mile nautical light with the following character; one (1) green flash every three (3) seconds. The optic is to be positioned a minimum of 6m above mean high water springs and the structure is to be coloured predominantly green to act as a day mark. An access ladder is to be provided from seabed level and the structure should be suitably marked to identify it as an NLB AtoN. More specifically, the main items of work are as follows:
•Set up site and welfare facilities.
•Install 3 no. 508 x 25 CHS steel piles and excavate all material from within steel piles.
•Supply and fill 508 x 25 CHS steel piles with concrete and reinforcement as required.
•Install the precast concrete pile cap.
•Supply and fill the precast concrete pile cap with insitu concrete and reinforcement as required.
•Install stainless steel handrail and kick plate around the precast concrete pile cap.
•Install stainless steel access ladder.
•Carry out any repair paintwork as required.
•Install the lantern pedestal
•Clear all rubbish and material from site, demobilise.
Site Access: It is the responsibility of the Contractor to provide suitable access to the site throughout the duration of the contract. Any boat used by the Contractor must be certified to comply with MCA 'Code of Practice for the Safety of Small Boats and Pilot Boats', preferred category 4 as a minimum.
