The Connect 5 Training program aims to enhance people's capacity, capability, and confidence in having proactive and supportive conversations about mental health and wellbeing. Here's an overview of its scope:

Understanding Mental Health and Wellbeing:

Participants learn about mental health and wellbeing through specific public health models.

They explore qualities and attitudes necessary for supporting and improving mental health.

The focus is on recognizing the importance of self-help resources.

Skills and Confidence Building:

Connect 5 equips individuals with the skills and confidence to engage in mental wellbeing conversations.

Participants learn how to talk with others about their mental health and wellbeing effectively.

Local Services and Support:

The training emphasizes understanding local mental health and wellbeing services.

Participants learn how to guide people toward seeking support from these services.

Principles of 'Making Every Contact Count':

Connect 5 aligns with the principle of making the best use of frontline staff's skills and local contacts.

It encourages proactive conversations in various contexts, such as workplaces and communities.

The training consists of three modules, each approximately 3 hours long.
