Description

The Stonehenge, Avebury and Associated Sites World Heritage Site is recognised as a heritage asset of national and international importance.
Highways England wants to ensure that archaeological remains are preserved and recorded, in advance of Scheme construction, by commissioning appropriate archaeological expertise.

Highways England would like to appoint a supplier to provide archaeological mitigation works for the proposed A303 Amesbury to Berwick Down (Stonehenge) Improvement Scheme.
The works will be split into three Sections: 1. Pre-commencement documentation; 2. Site Works; and 3. Processing, Laboratory Work, Reporting and Dissemination, as well as Archaeological Monitoring and Recording.
This is a large and complex project, which will require critical capabilities and resources from a balanced and diverse supply chain partner. Collaboration is at the heart of the relationships necessary to delivery at the pace required.
The length of the contract is 8 years with the possibility to extend by 1 year.
Highways England intends to use an e-Sourcing portal (Bravo) to communicate and undertake the procurement for these requirements. Please see Additional Text for further information.
