Description

The Horniman wishes to appoint a suitably qualified MEP contractor to design, supply, install and commission three ASHP's after having removed the existing natural gas boilers, pipework and pumps. A provisional item of work to be priced is the installation of split AC units to the office areas for higher temperature heating and cooling.
Contractor is to complete the final design and submit installation drawings and schedules for acceptance by the client and employers agent prior to commencing the installation.
The plant room contains a number of asbestos containing materials as listed on the latest management report by Lucion Services Ref 577837. A full R&D (refurbishment and demolition) survey of the area affected by the works is underway and will be published as soon as available.
The site is a fully operational, occupied and staffed storage facility that houses the majority of the museum's
collection. As such extreme care is required when working within the building and around the stored collection.
Paying particular attention to mitigating the impact of dust, debris, water, accidental damage and safe systems of work especially around site security, the moving and use of ladders, access equipment and works on any plumbing systems.
