Description
The Council is seeking Suppliers for one to one discussions on the 27th June 2018 to understand the options and delivery models for providing a local full fibre network for utilisation by local public-sector organisations.
We propose to procure a local full fibre network connecting 196 public sector premises across the city of Wolverhampton . The public-sector sites include schools, the City of Wolverhampton, college, libraries, community centres and hubs, family and children centres, housing offices and council offices.
The main aim of this improvements in the digital infrastructure is to support the Council's Confident, Capable Council (C3) transformation programme to improve services and transform the way the council works through the implementation of our digital transformational agenda. The fibre network will support the provision and efficient delivery of technology-based solutions and services will support the new ways of working that satisfy customers and free up valuable resources for reinvestment in front line services. We also anticipate wider benefits of higher bandwidth to schools and the college including the positive effect on teaching outcomes and opportunities such as virtual learning environments and smart learning and around digital inclusion from improved bandwidth to libraries, community centres and hubs, family and children centres and housing offices offering opportunities for our residents to discover the benefits of getting online in community venues.
The purpose of the meeting will be to; introduce both parties, the aims and ambitions for the offering, the achievable possibilities, any unidentified aspects pre-tender. The meeting will be conducted under regulation 40 of the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
This is to ensure that the objectives for exercise are informed and achievable and for those willing to provide the service to be fully informed.
Expressions of interest closes on the 20/06/17 and appointments will be on a first come first severed basis. Slots will be an hour in length with the format of a 10-minute overview by the authority, 40-minute presentation and discussion by the supplier and 10 minutes for questions.
Please respond by emailing John Thompson at John.Thompson@wolverhampton.gov.uk and you will be allocated a time on the 27th June.
