Freia is a neutron reflectometer optimised for soft condensed matter and life sciences that is currently being developed by UKRI as an in-kind collaboration with ESS ERIC. Freia will be installed and operated at the ESS facility in Lund, Sweden. More details on Freia can be found on the ESS website: https://europeanspallationsource.se/instruments/freia.

This tender details the requirements for the supply of the Freia neutron guide Neutron Beam Optics Assembly (NBOA). The Freia NBOA will be installed at the ESS facility. The guide delivered must meet UKRI and ESS ERIC requirements.

The NBOA will fit within the Neutron Beam Port Insert (NBPI), which will form a part of the ESS target systems.
