Description

DfT is seeking proposals for the provision of research, scientific advice and technical representation in international fora on the impacts of aviation on the atmosphere, primarily on climate change. This includes: fuel burn, CO2 emissions, particulate matter (PM), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and other effects of aviation both on climate and air quality. This requires significant modelling and analytical capability notably on the interdependencies between reductions in these pollutants and with noise emissions as part of cost effectiveness analysis.
The supplier will provide specialist research services to the Aviation Directorate of the Department for Transport. Other government departments who have an indirect interest in aviation's impact on the atmosphere will receive advice from DfT based on the output of the contract.
