Description
Moorfield's Eye Hospital (MEH) is the leading specialist Eye Hospital in NHS England, delivering 7% of total output for NHSE and 44% in London.
MEH is the appointed lead provider of eye healthcare in the Croydon area, for both secondary and community-based services. Under the scope of community-based services, MEH leads the management and delivery of community-based ophthalmology care services in Croydon under an innovative 'first of type' model / arrangement directly commissioned by Croydon Clinic Commissioning Group (CCG). This forms an Integrated Ophthalmology Service (IOS) model which delivers specialist eye hospital and community-based care, in addition to referral refinement delivered through a Single Point of Access.
MEH are looking to form a partnership to deliver the core service elements as set out within this tender, as a minimum, with the intention of expanding service offering to provision for suitable additional services and across a wider regional footprint. The partnership may be formed through a collaboration of Eyecare clinics through a single prime provider model with sub-contracting arrangements and secondary provider(s). All providers will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in agreement with the service requirements under a seamless delivery model, and will be expected to continually work with MEH to further develop and improve the service in line with shifting demand.
The tender has been segmented into the following six service lots:
Lot 1A) Prime Provider to deliver CORE services in the Croydon region
Lot 1B) Secondary Provider to deliver ADDITIONAL services in the Croydon region
Lot 1C) Prime Provider to deliver CORE and ADDITIONAL services in the Croydon region
Lot 2A) Prime Provider to deliver CORE services in Croydon and other regions
Lot 2B) Secondary Provider to deliver ADDITIONAL services in Croydon and other regions
Lot 2C) Prime Provider to deliver CORE and ADDITIONAL services in Croydon and other regions
The core services to be delivered under this contract include:
- A single point of access admin and clinical triage support
- Community Minor Eyecare conditions services
- Glaucoma Referral Filtering Scheme
- Glaucoma Pathways for diagnosis, monitoring and management of established glaucoma
- Community cataract refinement services
- Community Post-op cataract services
The additional services to be delivered under this contract include:
- Optometry Services
- Long-term monitoring of stable pathologies
