Description

The Client (UKAEA) seeks to assess the viability of applying different material deposition processes remotely to in-situ repair plasma facing components in nuclear fusion reactors. The successful Consultant (Supplier) will be selected by the Client to research material deposition techniques provided by the Client, to identify typical operating parameters and the equipment required to apply these processes as repair techniques. The Consultant will then use this information to perform an assessment on the viability and technology readiness level of using these material deposition processes for in-situ repair and define the requirements on the remote handling deployment to apply these processes in situ. Finally, the Consultant will produce a basic concept design for in-situ repair tools for each of the material deposition techniques.
