Description

The University of Northampton is relocating to a new campus in the town centre with effect from September 2018, which will include Halls of Residence to accommodate 1000 students. There is a contract currently in place for laundry facilities upon the existing estate covering the Halls of Residence that will be retained post September 2018, therefore it is vital that the new facilities fall in line with the existing standard.

The University is not expecting to incur any costs for equipment or installation; vending prices should be set to generate adequate revenue to recover all costs over the life of the contract. We estimate that currently the gross revenue of each machine (including stacked units) is £1250 per annum.

On this basis, the University requires an organisation to supply, install and maintain a fully managed laundry service for the new Halls of Residence, which should include:

Provision of commercial washing machines and tumble dryers, based on a ratio of 1:60 students to be accommodated within the building.
Washing machines and tumble dryers should be front loading and stackable. 1 x tumble dryer must be placed at ground level to comply with the Equality Act 2010
Installation should include aesthetic panelling and full decoration of space, including display of any supporting literature and signage
A cashless vending solution
24 hour helpdesk function, 364 days a year with 24 hour service response time and full accountability/responsibility for maintenance, repair and refunds
Monthly Management Information Reports, to include usage data and call out/repair analysis
Commission payments
