Description

The City invites Tenders for the provision of Galleywall Primary Refurbishment.
The works involve: stripping out of the existing 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors (including Mezzanine floors) and refurbishing the internal space according to attached specification outlined in the Employers Requirement documents (Architectural, Structural Engineers, M&E Engineers and Landscape Architects reports); repairs to external elevations and roof; re-decorations of windows and doors; full heating plant and electrical/ICT replacement; installation of a new reheat kitchen and passenger lift; form new entrances and structural alterations; works to external playground and boundary walls. Associated works include: works to existing building, internal walls and partitions, internal doors, wall finishes, floor finishes, ceiling finishes, furnishings and equipment and services; demolition of existing dining and toilet block.

The Contract will be procured using a two-stage Design & Build Tender process.

One Contractor will be selected for the second stage and appointed using a Pre-Construction Services Agreement.

Stage One - The period (intended to last from 6 December 2016 to 3rd February 2017) which will commence on the issue of this ITT to Tenderers and end on the execution of the Pre-Construction Services Agreement.

Stage Two - The period (intended to last from 3rd February 2017 to 17th July 2017) during which the Contractor will provide pre-construction services as outlined in the Pre-Construction Services Agreement, which will commence at the end of Stage One and end on Main Contract execution.

Tenderers should note the key completion date is to permit occupation by the School in time for the beginning of January 2018. Tenderers may though consider if there is an economic benefit in offering a shorter programme and accordingly offer an alternative to their compliant bid.

The maximum value for the project is £3,700,000.00, which is not to be exceeded.
