Description

Sheffield Hallam University is one of the most progressive and innovative universities in the country. It has an annual turnover exceeding 260 000 000 GBP and employs over 4 400 staff. The University has over 30 000 students enrolled (including more than 2 000 overseas students) across more than 600 courses. Of these, 24 000 are undergraduate students and over 6 000 are postgraduates (taught and research).

The University has recently launched its new strategy which sets out an ambitious vision to be the world's leading applied University. Our mission is simple: we transform lives. We do this by shaping our students" futures and preparing" them for whatever they choose to do, and by creating knowledge that provides practical solutions to real world challenges. Behind this statement of mission, the strategy outlines 4 "pillars".

- shaping futures,

- creating knowledge,

- leading locally and engaging globally,

- building a great University.

The University requires one or more occupational health service provider(s), to provide a range of OH services to applicants and students. The aims of the service are:

- to assess applicants and students' health conditions specifically in relation to their work placements during their course,

- to provide immunisations if appropriate,

- to provide a medical opinion of any support or adjustments the applicant or student requires from the University in order to fulfil the course and placement requirements of their course.

The University plans to have the OH service implemented by the 1.4.2019

The duration of the contract is initially 2 years, with the option to renew for successive periods of one year, up to a maximum term of 5 years, subject to satisfactory performance and costs.
