Description
Cambridgeshire County Council, Public Health Directorate are carrying out this soft market test to determine the options and potential cost of providing a Chlamydia Screening Laboratory Service (Primary Care) in line with the National Chlamydia Screening Programme Standards ( 7th Edition)
This service is aimed at reducing the prevalence of Chlamydia in young people aged 15 to 24 and increase patient choice by providing additional access channels to Chlamydia screening
The provider will be expected to demonstrate that they can meet Standard 3: Laboratory Testing Procedures and Standard 5: Data Collection and Submission to Public Health England set out in the National Chlamydia Screening Programme Standards ( 7th Edition)
The provider will provide screening kits and a system for the return of screening kits to and from contracted primary care services in the area including GP practices and local outreach providers
Data will be put on to an online database for local sexual health service to access and for inclusion in the Chlamydia Testing Activity Dataset (CTAD) and for the treatment of positive Chlamydia cases by the local sexual health service.
