Description

The University is inviting tenders on the terms set out in this ITT for the provision of an RNA sequencing service, to include quality control checking of provided samples and library preparation for 1338 samples extracted from leaves of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata). The extracted RNA was obtained from 446 accessions with three biological replicates per accession, and anticipated uses for the sequencing data are a transcriptome wide association study as well as evaluation of differential expression among accessions.

Other Information: the work is part of ongoing Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency (RIPE), funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), the Foundation for Food and Agricultural Research, and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. It is required that research data generated by RIPE is published open access according to BMGF policy following IP review. Data confidentiality and security at point of transfer to the client is anticipated, aligned with grant terms and conditions.

There may be the possibility of a contract extension or additions to accommodate further compatible and complimentary purchases in the future (e.g., sequencing or re-sequencing of additional batches of samples relevant to the prepared libraries). Any extension will be subject to the award of additional grant funding to the University. We therefore ask that, if possible, quotations be valid until 31st December 2023, please clearly indicate this in your return.
