Description
Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of a breakdown, repair and recovery service.
The contract will be for TWO years plus a TWO year option to extend subject to satisfactory performance. Commencement date will be: 02/10/2018 until 08/10/2022.
Suppliers are required who can evidence:
• appropriate vehicles and equipment to recover and remove specialist vehicles and plant
• Training, competence and experience of recovery and removal of specialist vehicles
• Evidence of their health and safety policies including training and monitoring in providing a repair and breakdown recovery service
• Effective implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures
• Evidence of suitable competent persons who have appropriate knowledge and practical experience of the type of vehicles and/or equipment to be inspected and who is capable of detecting defects or weaknesses and assessing their importance in relation to the safety and continued use of the vehicle and/or equipment in accordance with a recognised training
• a comprehensive risk assessment process dealing with breakdowns, recovery and removal supported by policies and documentation
• a comprehensive risk assessment process that sets out detailed planned for vehicle roll overs, and safety of members of the public.
