Description

Birmingham City Council is seeking to procure a supplier to implement and manage a Vehicle Scrappage Concession scheme to supply compliant vehicles to eligible grant recipients who meet the requirements of the Worker Vehicle Scrappage Scheme, and to dispose of their non-compliant vehicles.

The supplier will work with a range of stakeholders including, but not limited to, local car dealerships and local scrap metal dealers. The supplier will be responsible for arranging the auditable destruction of non-compliant vehicles using Authorised Treatment Facilities.

The contract is determined to be a concession contract pursuant to the Concession Contracts Regulations 2016 and over the value of the OJEU concession threshold. The duration of the contract will be for 3 years with an option to extend for a further two years and will be terminated if grant funding is exhausted before the end of the term.
