Description

Nottingham City has a diverse population of over 300,000 of which approximately 60,000 are children and
young people. The range of survivors in the city who have experienced one or more incident of DVA is
estimated to be between 30,096 and 42,266 for females and 36,355 and 48,525 for females and males. The
potential number of perpetrators within Nottingham is thought to be in 14,000 people (predominantly males).
The overall aim of the service is to reduce the prevalence of and harm caused by DSVA in Nottingham City by
delivering training and campaigns to support the outcomes of the service.
The service will work within the Duluth Model and national violence against women and girls strategic approach
adopted by the Nottingham Partnership. This includes an understanding of the power and control model,
coercive control and space for action. The service will work within a frame work that recognises the impact of
inequality as result of sex and gender on DSVA/Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).
The service provider will promote and develop the services throughout the Term including seeking new
opportunities to deliver training and leading on targeted campaigns. The service provider will be expected to
actively seek additional funding opportunities that can be used to benefit the further development of the service
model and promote the services and the objectives.
The service will utilise volunteers throughout the service, but specifically within the campaigns element. The
Provider will be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting volunteers.
