Description
The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (the "Council") has a statutory obligation to provide Travel Assistance ("TA") to eligible children of compulsory school age, to facilitate their attendance at school in certain circumstances. The Council also provides TA for eligible adults. The Council anticipates that there will be a rising number of children in the district with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities which will create an increasing demand for travel assistance.
In September 2015 a new Travel & Transport Policy ("TTP") was agreed which set out how the Council supports the right of all children and young people to learn how to travel independently and become economically active citizens. It has been developed to ensure best use of public resources by prioritising support to those in greatest need and reflects the districts "New Deal", a developing understanding of what people can expect from local services, and what they are responsible for themselves.
The Council is looking for a consultant to undertake a review of Council service proivision.
