Description
North Somerset Council is seeking tenders for the dredging of Marine Lake Weston super Mare. Constructed in 1929, the Marine Lake is formed by a retaining wall that impounds seawater.
At present, the sediment accumulated in the Marine Lake means the lake's bed level is approximately 0.5m below the crest height of the lake's retaining wall. This equates to a bed level of approximately +4.5mOD. The scope of work is to dredge up to 1.5m of sediment to restore the impounded water depths.
It is imperative that the Marine Lake is opened to the public before the start of the summer tourist season on 31st May 2021.
